CONTEXT
“Sail away again, again.”
Aimer is a Japanese Pop and rock singer mainly known for her anime intros and endings and her long, 4-6 minute ballad-type songs. She’s one of my favorite singers, and I wanted to reimagine her branding. The main goal of this project was to design a logo and wordmark and include them on the album cover.
TROUBLESHOOTS
“You just simply drift forward,”
Aimer doesn’t really have a brand for herself aside from her stage name. SImply wanting to create a brand for my favorite J-POP singer.
Challenge
Create an identifiable mark for Aimer’s music brand signature, while keeping her presence and identity intact.
Design Essence
Elegance
Aimer is a respectable artist, but she does not often show her face. This is conveyed in her live concerts, where most of the audience is quiet so they can respect her performance.
Romantic
Aimer's singing has a distinctive, husky voice, which adds texture and depth to her songs and her image as an artist.
Captivating
Aimer's music has a lot of instrumentals. grand bridges, and emotional highs, which swirl the emotions of the listeners and leave them in awe.



Sketches for the brand identity
The typography was adjusted and re-illustrated to encompass the name “Aimer” and simultaneously create a heart mark with the letter “a.” Aimer’s musical craft involves a lot of love; the alias Aimer means “to love” in French, and having a mark to etch her alias to herself is a significant factor in recreating her rebranding.

Highlighting the meaning of her stage name and encompassing her overall musicality.
