CONTEXT

Eggs are sensitive, and so is your skin.

Don’t fry your skin! Set your sunscreen on Over-Easy. The concept of a kid’s sunscreen brand was created during my stay with VIA Studio, with the creative designer helping me understand Illustrator more and how to go about designing in Illustrator in general. And so, the project was born.

The target audience consists of kids and preteens, so the brand is presented in a looser, more illustrative manner to capture the attention of both the target audience and their guardians. Cute graphics were used to simplify the visuals and create an approachable brand that people can pick up and choose.

With kids and pre-teens- especially people of color— having adverse reactions to sunscreen, this brand creates different types of sun care products to ensure they are usable and inclusive for all kids.

LOOKING AHEAD

Retrospective

HOW COULD THESE DESIGN HAVE BEEN IMPROVED?

With more time, I would’ve expanded upon the iterations and even more of the accessibility of the bottles for ease of access, with using illustrative models to work on the customer experience side of things.

Clothing merchandise for the cast members of the show, volunteers, and guardians of the members.

It’s fun to just let your mind wander and see what you can come up with.

Project takeaways.

Deeper design explorations— Documenting a wider range of iterations would have been great to expand upon and show, but considering the time frame of the side project while working full-time at the agency, this was more like a quick sprint than anything.

Pushing to your limits— With the quick sprint, the main goal was to see what my mind could conjure up within the time frame I had with all the variables to consider for Photoshop and Illustrator.

Putting it to practice—After learning under the team's creative direction and design, I tested what I learned with this quick sprint, using what I knew to create and finish this side project.
