CONTEXT
A discography of their main title tracks.
Tomorrow X Together is a K-POP boy group that debuted in 2019. Making a discography of their Korean title track songs from their debut to the project’s conception in 2022 was a personal project, alongside understanding how to make transition shots. Using their music videos, the goal was to seamlessly stitch them together to the next music video while blending them together, showcasing a snippet of each music for each era.
This project helped me understand After Effects better and the world of creating transitions in videos. I used a music group I had listened to a lot at the time: Tomorrow X Together (TXT). This group had creative visuals, a brand identity, and music in the K-POP scene, and I wanted to explore creating transitions from their debut to the latest song they released at the time of this project’s conception.
Merging and editing the music is something I’ve learned with years of coaching figure skating and making shorter cuts of music for my skaters to skate to. Interestingly enough, it’s usually done in Premiere Pro, sometimes with the help of Adobe Audition.

HOW COULD THESE DESIGNS HAVE BEEN IMPROVED?
Motion tracking is incredibly new, and given more opportunities, I would like to improve on those effects. And with the mashup of music for the transitions, those could be improved, too, since I’ve learned much more about music editing with figure skating coaching for skaters’ programs.
Given the chance to learn more about After Effects and Premiere Pro, and I learned so much while creating this discography. Especially trying to shorten it to 2:20 for Twitter’s sake of posting to help celebrate the release of TXT’s latest music title drop and world tour at the time.
Project takeaways.
Trying something new— I’ve seen videos of people making discography videos showcasing the growth of their favorite musicians and artists, so I thought it would be a fun, small project to work on.
Frame by frame— Motion tracking in After Effects was a fun yet challenging process to figure out, but it fit the music videos that created a seamless transition from one music video to the other.
